Summary
This game does a lot of things right, and is very much an enjoyable experience – But its also one that has a suprising focus on story that not everyone will enjoy.
So, the story is the core experience here, and the game has plenty of it. With extensive cut scenes and deep rich character development it tugs at your heart in every corner it can grab on. This translates into in-game dialogues as side characters talk and expand on their personalities with optional encounters that you can listen to or ignore as you deem fit. Coupled with the endless AAA style collectible. its a big world with a lot of stuff going on.
That said, it translates to the shooting of Nazi’s in often jarring moments where after 10-15 minutes of dialogue and expose, you are then trust into a heated battle in seconds with little to no ramping up. While the battles themselves are great (Though i strongly urge playing on higher difficulty modes) its not always a smooth transition between story and shooty parts.
Gunplay though is fantastic, with each weapon feeling great and unique and though weapon variety is limited, the upgrades to the various weapons might near as well be new weapons in themselves with their impact to the way you play…. and damned if the weapons Don’t feel, look and sound fantastic.
The big issue… is performance. While I personally haven’t had any issues with the title in any way, plenty of other people have quite a few performance and gameplay stability issues with the game, which is never acceptable, but even more so in a AAA 60+DLC dollar title.
Some people are creating negative reviews for that alone, and while I cant agree with that as the game is great overall, its also very understandable to not want to purchase this while issues persist.
