Warcube has a solid core idea, setup and base quality – but there is a lot of work left on this title.
Warcube looks very nice, and even with the limited scope of it’s character designs, it all gives a certain level of charm and unique immersion. With diverse landscapes en scenes being available, and excellent level design creating enjoyable gameplay.
And the gameplay is mostly solid – Cool slow-motion and active combat with movement and timing at the fore-front, accompanied with fitting sound and music and set with a good bunch of interactive elements to facilitate gameplay.
Where the game starts to show its gaps, is quite literally – in the gaps of content. There is just so very little of it. The early access build only has about 2 hours of content available, with limited replay value. The content that is here – is very fun, but there is very little of it available
Another issue, but very minimal comparatively, is the physics. They feel and act very floaty and “heavy” at, seemingly, random. Very sad.
A very solid build in terms of quality and design, with a solid set of core mechanics that mostly need expanding and MORE of everything. More levels, more enemies, more difficulty options, more items, more combat mechanics, etc… A cool and interesting game that deserves your attention, but might also need a bit more content to be worth the money.
