I am not a fan. Not because i Don’t appreciate the art, or the idea, or even the concept. I am not a fan because the PC build is lacking in the most basic of functionality and the game play that is available, is buggy and badly paced.
The good? It’s absolutely stunning to look at. Every single frame of this game could b e painting and I’d sit back with a pretentious looking glass and pipe to take it in. I do not have a single piece of negative comment about its visuals. Smooth animations, clean transitions, unique designs and everything creating a amazing feeling of enjoyable lovely art.
Sadly, this is also all the game has on offer – Its technical build is terrible, missing everything from volume controls (outside of a mute toggle) to a damn quit button. Simply unacceptable.
Also – worse than the lack of PC Fanciness (though calling a quit button fancy is a stretch) the few mechanics in the game are buggy in all the wrong places. With snap-pulling the terrain occasionally missing movement transitions, scene transitions not triggering and the endless annoyance as one of the asinine sheep decide it doesn’t want to follow the flock.
On top of that, while the gameplay pacing in terms of story is nice, even at its short 90-ish minute duration, the game still felt needlessly padded in places – notably the train ride with its never-ending terrain shaping segment. (that served no purpose i could tell).
Lastly, we come to the story, that is not BAD, but its just painfully predictable with not a twist, turn or even moment of tension to be found. A shame.
A great game to look at, just not one I’d like to play again.
